The Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation (DSBF) consists of a team of passionate, skilled, dedicated and mature individuals. The team has a sound knowledge of the barriers to progress which are experienced by indigenous people and their communities. Our team of professionals approaches every project using their consultative skills and creative problem solving to achieve success.
We are committed to understanding the needs of Indigenous communities and individuals. As well, we always consider diverse environmental conditions and other remote location factors. We engage industry and consider new innovations to identify solutions that lead to maximum positive outcomes. Results are achieved through our culturally aware team members working to achieve high levels of community buy-in.
Our Journey
The Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation (DSBF) was founded by Dr Steve Burroughs in 2017. Its founder, Dr Steve Burroughs, has spent the past 40 plus years demonstrating leadership and innovative approaches in the advancement of built environment sustainability and resilience overseas and across Australia.
Dr Steve has a long history of partnering with Indigenous communities and their supporters to help the often disadvantage to progress and achieve equity in housing, health and self-sufficiency – this Foundation takes his life’s work to new levels.
Making a priority of community engagement and working with corporate partners, Dr Steve, through the Foundation, its Board, many volunteers and Indigenous people, promotes the advancement of Australia’s First People living in regional and remote communities.
Since starting the DSBF has connected and made a positive difference across many regions and communities, some of which include: Lightning Ridge -NSW, Murdi Paaki region NSW, Walgett – NSW, Peak Hill- NSW, Yarrabah – Qld, Barcaldine Qld, Broome – WA, Derby -WA, Halls Creek – WA, Fitzroy Crossing -WA.
